Generational Trauma

Generational Trauma

You are here now. You are the future. Consider your future being free of inherited generational trauma. Free of the trauma bonds from past generations. Free of self-blame and diagnoses that do not affirm but instead feel critical moving toward feelings of less than and unworthy.

Our ancestor’s unresolved or unaddressed traumas become part of our genetic make-up. They are inherited much like the tone of our skin, the color of our eyes and need for glasses, or a predisposition to ailments like diabetes and brain illness. We inherit our relative’s emotional responses to their life experiences, especially when our ancestors were unable to receive the treatment needed to heal from those traumas.

This means we are carrying a backpack full of things that do not belong to us. The contents of the backpack can include insomnia, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addiction, depression, suicide ideation and eating disorders, to name a few.

Let me partner with you to lighten the load and empty the backpack. I work with individuals, couples and families who are experiencing the burden of inherited trauma. By creating awareness surrounding generational patterns and then providing a process to let go of what does not belong to us, the cycle of inherited trauma can be stopped.
